Looking to gain real-world experience and earn your Certificate of Competency in Venepuncture? This flexible course offers four different pathways – so you can choose the route that best suits your needs, location, and availability:

🏥 Clinic Placement (£350)

Spend half a day working 1:1 with a phlebotomist inside a live NHS GP surgery. You’ll take blood from 12–15 real patients during an active morning clinic, gaining hands-on experience under professional supervision. This is the most immersive option—ideal if you’re ready to dive in and see what a real clinic is like.

📹 Remote Submission (£200)

Already have access to volunteers? Record yourself performing 10 blood draws (on at least 5 different people) and submit the footage for expert feedback and assessment. We’ll review your technique and issue your certificate if you meet the required standard.

This also includes live supervision via Zoom for your first and last draws. You must leave time for assessment between blood draws.

👩‍⚕️ On-Site Supervision (£200)

If you can arrange volunteers and a suitable location, we’ll send a certified trainer to supervise your 10 blood draws in person. This is a great option for clinics, training centres or small groups wanting on-site assessment.

🤝 Peer-Signed Supervision (£50)

If you can arrange for a qualified phlebotomist, nurse or medical professional to observe your blood draws, they can complete our supervision form to verify your competence. Once you’ve completed and submitted the paperwork, we’ll review and issue your certificate.

👩‍⚕️ WHO IS IT FOR?

This is designed for anyone who has already completed the CPD Venepuncture Practices & Techniques course and now wants to build real-world experience and add a recognised Certificate of Competency to their CV.

You’ll need access to a suitable phlebotomy setup—either via a clinic (for in-person) or your own supplies (for remote/on-site options). We offer a Phlebotomy Starter Kit at checkout to help you get prepared.

📜 ACCREDITATION

Our courses, provided by iN phlebotomy training, are CPD certified and internationally recognised.

This course counts as 5 CPD hours.
